The promise

Remote access and multi-site views are services you can add. They are never a requirement, and turning them off leaves everything else working.

What is implemented

• Nothing yet. No hosted service exists.

What is planned

• Pairing by a short-lived enrollment code, exchanged for a site-scoped token; the edge pins the hosted certificate.
• Disable at any time; the edge keeps working with no loss of local function.
• A hosted data-handling page that says what is uploaded, where it is stored, who can see it, when it is deleted, and which subprocessors exist, reviewed by counsel before any public upload.

• The roadmap: hosted services are the last phase, after an external security review.
